Rachel Bilson — who is “taking a break” from fiance Hayden Christensen — ran errands in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles Thursday with much longer locks. Her tips were also lightened blonder.
Bilson, 28, flashed her ringless finger to UsMagazine.com on June 16, and a source confirmed to Us the next day that she and Christensen — who co-starred in 2008 action flick Jumper — were reevaluating their relationship.
They are “taking about a month off,” the insider told Us at the time.

Rachel Bilson has teamed with Coach handbags to raise money for charity.

The star has selected three bags from Coach’s Poppy Collection to benefit The Art of Elysium, a charity that encourages working actors, artists and musicians to help youngsters with serious illnesses.

The actress chose a $398 day-to-night Poppy Sequin Spotlight purse, a cross-body evening Poppy Sequins Disco Bag for $148 and the $328 Poppy Leather Bella tote. All proceeds from the sale of the bags until July 28 will go to The Art of Elysium.

“Rachel looked over the selection of bags and decided which bags she would own herself, as well as the practicality of each bag for an appropriate time of day,” said Rachel’s representative, Marcel Pariseau.

Rachel also recently designed a bracelet to benefit the Diamond Empowerment Fund, a charity that supports education initiatives to help people in countries where diamonds are a natural resource.

Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen are reportedly taking a break because they can’t agree on where to live.

The couple got engaged in February 2009, but are believed to have decided to spend some time apart to re-evaluate their relationship. Rachel and Hayden’s representatives have refused to comment on the status of their relationship, or the reason for the “break”, but a friend has now claimed the couple have taken time out because they can’t decide where to live.

Hayden is reportedly keen to live in his native Canada, while Rachel is desperate to remain in Los Angeles with her family. Both are reluctant to compromise and decided to spend time apart because they are so sick of having a long-distance romance.

“Hayden’s Canadian and wants to live in Canada but her family is in California,” the friend told Us Weekly magazine.

Rachel sparked rumours the pair had split altogether when she appeared on the red carpet at an event in Los Angeles earlier this month without her engagement ring.

When 28-year-old Rachel was asked about her wedding plans, she replied, “No, no plans,” before pointing to her bare hand and adding, “No nothing.”

It was later reported the couple were taking a month off to reassess their romance, and are planning to meet up soon to discuss whether they have a future together.
