The Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network is the nation’s largest anti-sexual assault organization and has been ranked as one of “America’s 100 Best Charities” by Worth magazine.

The National Sexual Assault Hotline (1.800.656-HOPE) is a partnership of more than 1,100 local rape crisis centers that provides sexual assault victims with free, confidential services around the clock. The hotline helps 140,000 sexual assault victims a year, and has had more than 1 million calls since 1994 — when it was first founded by Scott Berkowitz, who continues as the organization’s president.

The National Sexual Assault Online Hotline — currently in its pilot phase at www.rainn.org — is the first secure web-based crisis hotline providing live and anonymous support in an instant messaging format.

In addition, RAINN uses its extensive entertainment industry and community-based relationships to put critical information into the hands of young women and men at concerts, on campus and in communities. Through these many close partnerships, RAINN educates more than 120 million Americans each year about sexual assault.
